A life story.

Little Jimmy started off life to a rough start. From the moment of birth he had already lost a brother while being born because of Jimmy cutting off his twins oxygen within his mum. He was severely bullied throughout his primary school life because of his height and weight, only for his mum and dad to break up soon after.
His mum turned to drugs and left her old life behind while taking Jimmy and his older sister with her to Torquay. A year later Jimmy’s mum thought she had found salvation by meeting a new bloke Terry. Terry was in the army and Jimmy’s mum gave up drugs in an effort to sort her life out and things were going well.

Terry and Jimmy’s mum got married and moved to Exeter together and soon things went spiralling out of control. Terry attempted to throw Jimmy’s older sister in the Exeter Quay (A really deep river to those who have no geographical knowledge), Jimmy saw this and recognised his older sister couldn’t swim, neither could he. So Jimmy did the right thing and jumped in the way only for him to be thrown in. As Jimmy plummeted through the depths of the water he looked above to see a mossy green water surface above him. He was losing oxygen and his lungs felt as though a steam roller was compressing them. Instinctively he did what came naturally and flapped his arms around him in an effort to reach the surface. Moments of his life flooded his mind, his twin, his dad, the excessive bullying…

Jimmy survived and was exposed to severe violence and child abuse, his now stepdad Terry would get drunk and do terrible things. Tip a glass cabinet upon Jimmy’s pregnant mum, repeatedly hit Jimmy, he’d be dragged down from his 6ft bunk bed by his ankles only to later explain to his mum “he missed his footing, on the ladder”.

Jimmy is now 17, in sixth form and hoping to soon be studying to be a Games Engineer, his stepdad has now given up alcohol and is a better person for it. None of us have had an “easy life”, so at the end of the day…
